In the outskirts of Tainan, this particular spot is for tourism and educational purposes, so the salt here won’t end up in the kitchen. Most of the salt farms in the area has closed down as salt industry in Taiwan declined and imported salt became cheaper.

Qigu Salt Mountain
This bizarre looking mountain is composed of 3.9 tons of salt. The monument at the top of the mountain apparently changes once in a while. There is also a little amusement park right next to it.
